This is vintage Chita Rivera singing "Pretty for Me" on Hollywood Palace in 1968. The back up dancers are some sort of proto-Village People. It is so increadibly gay you wonder if they knew it. Fausto and I have been enjoying the heck out of it. Fausto is so into it, I had to stop him from recreating the video in the Target the other day.
I found this video on someone's myspace account and then went to watch it on youtube. I was not surprised that it was uploaded by our friend Robert aka mrpussypants because he has loads of vintage gay video on his youtube account.

Vintage Fausto in drag with performance artist Linda Montano as Lenny the opera singer. This is not for the faint of heart or those that gag easily. Although it's work safe, it is in fact quite gross.
I sped up the scene where Linda inserts the surgical tube into her nose and I had to cut about two minutes of Linda gaging on the tube to make it under youtube's 10 minute limit. Consider yourself spared!
This jewel is from Fausto's award winning Austin based cable access tv show "El Chow de Faustina" from 1994. "Chow" is pronounced like Cho as in Margaret Cho. It's a drag blast from the past.

Everytime I see this movie, it makes me cry just a little bit.
In this French campaign for AIDS awareness a young man discovers his sexuality through different bad boyfriends, until he finds happiness at the end. Very sappy and touching at the same time. Fine work from Wilfred Brimo, who also directed the 2005 campaign in France.
Thanks to our lovely listener Shauna Carratini who turned us on to this!
In case you were wondering, here's the hetero/female version of the ad. You'll never see something like this on US television.

When HBO first came to be, they would fill time between movies with "promotional videos" that came from the record companies. MTV was not even a twinkle in a record executive's eye. The thought of suing their customers would have made them laugh. So today enjoy this retro video of the Village People's "Sex Over the Phone."
It's not exactly YMCA, and I doubt that soccer moms, football fans and conservative republicans will ever do this Village People song at any public event. So if you ever doubt that they were gay, this "promotional film" will show you just how homo-lovin' Randy Jones and his posse were.
Is it me or does Randy Jones look YOUNGER today than he did in the 80's?
-Thanks to Gary in the UK for the link!

It just hurts to see so many iPods being knocked around like that.

I hope you guys have caught this lovely gem of a retro movie.
From what people are saying, it's Cher, Tina Turner and "some old lady" (otherwise known as Kate Smith) singing a horrific medley of Beatles tunes, recalling a simpler era when song licensing was cheaper and easier. Is that Earth, Wind and Fire as the marching band at the end? And Tim Conway also makes an terribly unfunny appearance, who's as hilarious as a heart attack.
Don't get me wrong, we all over here at the FOF compound love, love, love this video! We can't stop trying to imitate it. I love how Kate Smith seems so out of place, how they are all singing the same notes (these women CAN sing in harmony, so why didn't they?)
According to one Cher website, this segment was taped almost 31 years ago to this date on April 27, 1975.

I can't decide if this movie of ice-skating cowboys shaking their hips to Elvis' music makes all these Brokeback Mountain parodies more appealing or just nails the lid on the coffin of overkill even tighter.
Either way, it doesn't get any gayer than this. Make sure you catch that "arousing" ending with the hats. Is there a franchise in the works for Brokeback Mountain on Ice? -Thanks Craig Stoker!

V-Marr and I found this lovely video, V-Marr says it reminds her of the time she had sex underneath the highway ramp with this hot gorgeous stud she met at a truck stop in Indiana. Fausto says it reminds him of getting blow jobs from hot young skinny boys at the Faerie communes in Tennessee.
Why does this remind me of Madonna's desperation attempts to remain in the public eye?

Here's a real ad for the Play Station 2 from Europe. Never made it on the air. And they say Americans are obsessed with sex?

If you haven't heard of Indian-maharaji international pop superstar Daler Mehndi, you probably never will. (Note you will need Real Player to view this movie.)
This guy rips off one of RuPauls' catchphrases from his song Supermodel.
From his website:
"[sic] I have one thing to say: TUNAK TUNAK TAN! your life will be changed. you will dance. you will dance like you've never danced in your life. daler mehndi is one of india's biggest pop stars, or so i found out just recently. this video is one of those things that people pass around to their friends on the internet, and No-Nothing Rock! is here to pass it on to you. TUNAK TUANK TAN is a close five minutes of non-stop fun, genius, and amazement."
A link to his official website is here.
-Thanks Jason!

She is on fire! Check out new singing sensation Peter Curtis Wearing her do' rag with her cut-off shirt, sashaying behind his x-box. He describes himself as the "[sic] The World's Happiest Pop Stars."
Check out the song lyrics from his never-to-be hit song Pizzaz:
"Cruising around for an awesome PART-tay, Pizazz will be there and we'll show you the way-hay. The beats will be bumping, and the guys will be nice. Everyone there will be in for a suprise!"
It's hot. Work it. It's hot. What is PIZZAZ anyways? His penis? Is it a new urban hip gay word for PIZZA? Don't you love how he's sitting on a big bubble in the beginning of the video?
This is why videocasts/podcasts are growing in popularity, because you wont see this hot HOT shit on TV for sure.

Yatta, Yatta, Yatta... You may ask: "What the hell does "Yatta" mean anyways? It may not mean anything at all. All I want to know is where are they hiding the radio packs to their head-set wireless microphones. If you listen closely at the end of the video, this japanese boy band uses a probably unclicensed audio sampling of R2-D2's beep of the Star Wars fame.
You won't see this on sale at Wal-Mart anytime soon.
UPDATE: If you thought that song violated George Luca's copyrights, check this delicious nonsensical parody of Yatta, corporate food products, logos, and homosexuals (fruits).
-Thanks Todd!

They need to get Smallville's Tom Welling to do one of these public service announcements. I would watch it again and again and again.

Today's weekend movie is from a NASA archive, demonstrating an artificial "touch sensitive" robotic arm by having a ballet dancer do "contact improv" with it.
Is it me, or is she trying to get it excited?
-Thanks WOW Report!

This short reminds me a lot of Todd Haynes classic masterpiece "Superstar" where he tells the story of Karen Carpenter with nothing but cheap sets and Barbie Dolls. Several lawsuits from Mattell and the Carpenter family have forced this film underground, but I'm sure you can get a copy somewhere on eBay.

Too hot for prime time, check out this delicious little flash animated movie with some deliciously deelightful pictures of funky looking people. DO NOT watch this if you are easily offended, or grossed out.

Today's weekend movie is a delicious music video of William Shatner's "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" which has a lot of Beatle's Yellow submarine-style animation, as well as references to Lucille Ball and Lucy from Peanuts cartoon. If you are a pop-culture geek fan of Star Trek like we are, you'll love this!
Thanks to Sleepless Knights Media for this video.

Okay, this week our faithful listener Marc (not my boyfriend) sent us word of this band called Greenskeepers which does a fabulous tribute song to "Silence of the Lambs" called "Lotion".
Here is the video of their song with appropriated footage from the movie.
Fausto gives them a crystal skull award, which means this video and the song doesnt suck. I want to see them perform next time they are in town!
Be a doll and buy their song from iTunes will ya? Here is a link.

Click here to see the hilarious laugh-inducing patriotic video by Dennis Maldone, former stunt coordinator for StarTrek Voyager, Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, now turned nationalistic rocker after 9/11/01.
It seems he got his buddies from Paramount Studios to help generate the "special effects" which make him look like some worn out roadie-jesus. If you look hard at his poorly designed website (which seems to make my browser freeze up) you can see that in big bold letters: "100% OF ALL DONATIONS GO TO ORGANIZATION OF YOUR CHOICE." Whatever that means.
This reminds me a lot of my friend Shawn Martin, who totally lost it after 9/11 and decided to release an album of music to "honor those who died." All he did was drive himself crazy, homless, and into mental institutions.
Another casualty of the events surrounding Sep. 11. May all these tortured souls find peace.
Thanks to Feast of Fools veterans Merrie Greenfield and David Cerda for this gem!

Check out this Star Wars Trailer-spoof for Episode III. Are they trying too hard?
I love the puppets though. You know spring is here when the summer movie trailers start popping up. Looks like more crap from Shittywood. I still will watch it though.
Do you guys think that Madge Weinstein should do a podcasting movie of her life (like Howard Stern did in his film Private Parts?) Would be nice to see her in her younger days as a funeral home director.
