High heel shoes, a Louis Vuitton bag held by an arm coming from a man’s nose, a mysterious roll of pink material, a Don Rickles cut out, and a drag queen dressed up as a bunny rabbit, superimposed on a doctor’s report of a sexually transmitted disease: these are all a part of the visual language of Erik Peterson.

What’s this guy trying to say?

Today we look at longtime club personality and visual artist Erik Peterson. Erik’s artwork is part of an Erotic art & performance Exhibit, taking place at IML, the International Mr. Leather Conference & Contest, on Memorial day weekend in Chicago.

Erik’s making the bold statement that everyone’s ability to photograph themselves and share their photos online is ruining the nightclub scene. Is social media making us more self-conscious or is it revealing what’s already been there all along?
