Drag Queen Comedian Hedda Lettuce interviewed on the Feast of Fools podcast

Get your salad fork ready because New York City’s finest drag queen comedian, Hedda Lettuce is here! The obscene green queen who makes Halloween seem serene joins us on today’s show.

Hedda was forged in the fires of AIDS activism and in the New York City Cable Access television scene of the early 90s. Fifteen years later Hedda’s still going strong, traveling the country with her hilarious stand up act, and is a six time winner of “Drag Queen of the Year” by HX Magazine.

Hedda joins Marc Felion and me, Fausto Fernós to talk about why her hair is green, being Samantha’s boyfriend on the TV show “Sex and the City,” Miss Understood and running for President of the United States of America.

We’re not sure if she’ll get on any ballot but she’s got my vote! As Hedda says, why be forced to choose between Hillary and Barack, when you can have both?

Fausto Fernós, Hedda Lettuce and Marc FelionPictured here is a wonderful photo of the three of us taken by Sal-E at the Lakeshore Theater last month. Hedda’s show was hysterically funny as she spontaneously went from ribbing a gay couple sitting in the front row to being pummeled by twinkies.

A ton of Chicago drag celebrities were there, including Sal-E, Kevin Aviance, Tina Torch, Velicity and Teriyaki. Why Velicity chose such a hard name to understand is beyond me, but Hedda explains it all.

ATTENTION New York City listeners! Go check out Hedda’s hilarious act tomorrow night at the Vlada Lounge in the Hell’s Kitchen Neighborhood. Hedda is hilarious, you wont be disappointed. Show starts at 10pm. Vlada is one of my favorite places to visit, with cute customers and a fantastic selection of flavored, all-natural vodkas. Try a margarita made with gingered vodka. Yum!

Congratulations Boston Bill! Your comment #4172 wins today’s Feast of Fools goodie box giveaway. Email us your t-shirt size and mailing address.

It’s never a happy day when somebody dies, no matter how much pain they caused in this world. Even so, it’s hard to resist the urge to celebrate knowing that TV evangelist Jerry Falwell has died at the age of 73. Much like us, Falwell began his career as a media personality broadcasting from his […]
