Easter Basket Cocktail
By Marc Felion on March 20, 2008
Gayer than a Cosmopolitan? Yep! It’s not really the drink that makes it gay but rather how it is served.
Rim a martini glass with thick simple syrup and then dip into dyed green coconut flakes, then adorn with a little marshmallow peep. Think of it as your very own adult Easter Basket, but instead of being filled with candy, it’s filled with booze!
Prepare the glasses ahead of time and put them on a tray decorated with jelly beans and other seasonal delights for a stunning effect.
For the cocktail:
* 1 1/2 ounces Cherry Vodka
* 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
* 3 ounces Half and Half or Milk
* Dash Grenadine
Shake with ice until chilled. Pour into decorated glasses and serve.

This beautifully colored drink is delicious to sip on. The Dragon Fruit or Pitahaya replaces the cranberry juice in this alternative to the traditional Cosmopolitan. With its fuchsia-pink skin and scales, this pitaya fruit is in fact a cactus fruit and is unlike any other fruit in appearance.
It’s sort of the drag queen of […]

This was made in honor of my mom whose house we’re staying at this week. The “Patricia” is much like a Margarita but is made with white grape juice, whose subtle but delicious grape flavor comes through with the help of some lime.
2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz brandy
1 cup of white grape juice
1/4 cup of fresh […]

During the summer, all over Mexico people beat the heat by throwing fresh fruit into a blender and mixing it with tons of water, a little bit of sugar and a pinch of salt as a low-sugar alternative to soda.
Agua Fresca literally means “Fresh Water” because its water laced with a strong flavor of whatever […]

Our Mexi-licious correspondent César Torres brought us this tasty, health-friendly recipe during Gay Games week when he competed with his triathlon team the Chicago Razors. The Razors’ official cocktail is also a good alternative to pies. Seriously. If it’s good enough for Chicago’s premier gay triathletes, it’s good enough for you.
