Black history month begins this year on a sad note with the death of longtime civil rights champion for all, Coretta Scott King.
Mrs. Coretta is considered by many as the “first lady” of the civil rights movement. She worked hard to keep her husband the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy alive in the difficult years after his assasination 1968. This woman took a horrible loss with dignity and grace.
We here at the Feast of Fools podcast believe we wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the hard work of people like Mrs. King who dedicated her entire life to expand the dream of her husband from a black civil rights movement, to a movement of civil rights for all. Here’s to you Coretta, thank you!
Join us as we talk about Coretta Scott King’s death, the Chicago nightclub scene, civil rights, McDonna, and gossip with Sal-E, one of the biggest names in the Chicago drag scene.
