Gay Fun Show is like a podcast bouquet of spring flowers with a spicy bee buzzing inside.

How far will you go to get a Feast of Fools t-shirt? Our lovely loyal listener, Molly Brown had her t-shirt shipped to China while she was working at a recording studio where this hilarious script came her way:

One of my jobs here is working in a recording studio, doing English dialogues for taped listening sections which are used in schools, national tests and national contests. I just recorded this for a national contest, and thought it might give you a laugh. This is a conversation between two boys:

B1: I’m bored, what should we do?
B2: I have an idea, let’s go FISTING!
B1: Oh, I love fisting! That makes me feel very excited! That would be very enjoyable!
B2: I’m excited too! Look, I have a rod!

Question: What do the boys want to do?

Hmm…apparently the editor didn’t seem to catch the difference between “fisting” and “fishing”.

Did you know that a new study suggest that fruity cocktails may be actually healthy for you? Join us as we talk about our bike ride through Chicago’s nature preserve and our scary experience at a Willams Sonoma store.

Was it just me, or did anyone else hear that silent gap at towards the end of the episode?

So Wicca gets its own symbol, but what if you’re a Jedi?

The Marines don’t have light sabers yet, so maybe we’re still a few years away from forming Force-based combat unit.

A Jedi funeral! Now THAT would be hawt. What would a Jedi symbol look like Krimon? Would it be a Star Wars logo? Or…

Hey Brad:

Yep, there was definate “dead air” towards the end, thought it was me….

or the hypnotic sounds of the fisting going on in the background….

hmmmm

Fausto, I loved your definition of “fisting” at the beginning of the show. Reminded me of a Shel Silverstein poem –

Boys and girls, do you know what a gigolo is?
A gigolo is a musical instrument that looks like a small flute.
Ask your parents for a gigolo next Christmas!

(Is that a poem? I don’t know… free verse? But I remember it from a Shel Silverstein book when I was little. I was confused about the word “gigolo” for a long time after that!)

I just saw a stage production of “The Devil & Billy Markham” by Shel Silverstein. It was like the “Devil Went Down to Georgie” song only ten times longer. There were some really funny parts though and who knew the Devil wasn’t into anal?

Fausto & Marc,
Thanks so much for the shout out to John & me. I was listening to the show while checking e-mail, having dinner, waiting for a good time to call John once he’s back at his hotel (alas, he’s been on the road almost 3 weeks now). Hearing our names coming from your voices was a great high point for the day’s end. I had to call John then and record the shout out to his voice mail. When another windfall comes our way, one will probably makes it way again to the Feast of Fools.

woohoo i heard my name! thanks for the shout out guys! it totally made my day :)

ah, the feast of fools, love it!

I consider myself as a wiccan, but I don’t practice very much. Anyway, it’s great that all the diverse religions are being considered by law.

till tomorrow marc and fausto!

Wow I was mentioned on the show twice in two days! YAY! Also as far as being trans in the military I can only comment a little, (being trans but not being in the military). Some people don’t want lower surgery so even if you want to get in your wouldn’t make it past the physical. Also as far as passing, I pass, but if someone asked me if I was trans I’d answer honestly just to increase awareness. No military career for me.

Fausto, how nice to hear that Terry Gross has had a big influence on you! Just like you, she’s just a voice AND she is a great interviewer because she is very respectful and compassionate and at the same time asks very piercing questions. Her voice - she has a smoker’s voice, it sounds to me… She’s very petite, I think. But her voice is deep and strong. And I believe she’s from Philadelphia too. I really enjoy many of her programs. Another thing that you both have in common is the extremely wide range of interviewees. One point I do wonder about, though, is what you said that she ‘came out; as being Jewish. Seems to me she’s always been open about that, but I could be wrong. I think that FOF is so widely popular because it’s not just you doing the interviewing. You and Marc have an easy, breezy way of interacting, and that’s very refreshing to hear. I WILL turn my Chac Mol around for FOF, however, so that next year FOF will make the Forbe’s top 25 of blogging / podcasting list.

Yes, I do remember Marc and the Annie Sprinkles thing and was surprised that Fausto didn’t remember it until Marc said he made me smell his fingers — then I realized it was at the M&G at Mickey’s during the PPME and that Fausto wasn’t around at that moment. Actually, I don’t particularly remember what Mark’s fingers smelled like because there were about ten thousand other smells in the room (mostly colognes, I think) and I didn’t realize I was smelling the famous Annie Sprinkles (you didn’t tell me that, Marc).

Anyhoo, I’m really pissed that I didn’t get to meet Ted from Queer Eye and Iron Chefs. Marji and I think he’s great and think he’s a wonderful representative of the gay community. If given the choice to smell Marc’s fingers or to meet Ted — I would definitely met Ted — unless he made me smell his fingers, too.
