What is it with gay pride parade organizers and their choices for Grand Marshals? Are we spoiled from last year when we got George Takei of Star Trek and Heroes fame?
This years Chicago’s pride parade Grand Marshal is predictably someone who like in many past years made national news for coming out of the closet about their sexuality. It seems that every year retiring semi-celebrities make it a point to come out at just the right time so they can get gigs riding in cars in the front of parades in most major cities. Why doesn’t John Amaechi inspire me in the least?
Was Margaret Cho really that busy? How about Kathy Griffin, Bruce Vilanch, or even our own home grown celebrity Jim Verraros. Who even remembers what team this guy played for?
Our lovely lesbian pal Jessica Halem comes over to discuss the implications of two recently new studies which collectively show that lesbians are twice as likely to be fatter than straight women and also have a better sense of direction. Does this mean they know where to find the Cheetohs?
Jessica has been busy working on developing a fabulous “giblet” (that’s GLBT/LGBT for you common folks) event in Chicago, the Stoli Prom which is happening this weekend.
Join Jessica Halem, Amanda Steinstein and me Fausto Fernós at the Hilton Towers in Chicago this Saturday June 2, 8pm-midnight at the Stoli Promise Prom and tap into the teenager inside all of us.
Did you know there are a wide variety of devices you can connect to the audio port on your iPod that will make it work as a vibrator? The OhMiBod, iBuzz Audi-oh and iGasm are just some of the clever catchy devices to allow you to get off on the deep soulful tones of Barry White or the shrieks of Yoko Ono. You can even listen to our own podcast and really get off!
But now the iGasm company is getting into copyright trouble for mimicking Apple’s own advertising campaigns, a big no-no in my own opinion. We all love iPods and the clever silhouette ads developed by famed ad agency TBWA-Chiat-Day in Los Angeles, buy why do some people feel compelled to rip off the iconography to hawk their wares?
As Gregg Shapiro has told me many a times, imitation is the LAZIEST form of thievery.
