We are all in love with Chris Garneau. The Brooklyn based songwriter and musician best known for his singles “We Don’t Try” and “Relief” from his debut album Music for Tourists joins us today to talk about his music and play some of of his hits and new songs in the works.
Chris is just as kind, gentle and thoughtful in person as he is in his music and on stage and having him in the home studio playing live was quite an experience for all of us. His music and his voice carry an emotional strength to them, a wonderful simplicity that reference old world lullabys and drinking songs.
At a young age Chris’s family moved to France and then later New York City where he discovered his love for musical theater and playing the piano.
In High School Chris enrolled in workshops for Duncan Sheik’s Broadway musical Spring Awakening where he worked with Sheik on developing several of the songs from his debut album. Sensing that his passions lie in being a independent musician, Chris left the show to pursue a solo career.
Join me and my friends Kyle Curry and Justin McPhee today as we talk to Chris about his song lyrics, the way musicians struggle with substance abuse to deal with past personal pain, and why he thinks putting his photo on his album cover is a bad idea.

Like an old friend that’s always there for you, it’s the Feast of Fools!
