Everyone likes and needs compliments. As human beings we use compliments as one of the ways to form the important emotional bonds that bring us together. But sadly, because of personal pain or past problems we don’t always know how to give them or receive compliments.
We often toss away someone’s kind words as if we were afraid they were making fun of us. Check out some thoughts I put together on compliments.
On today’s show Amanda Steinstein and her lovely mom Fannie join us to talk about the hypocrisy of our local governments and police departments persecuting victimless crimes- in other words, crimes related to sex where nobody’s getting hurt.
If you really want to protect women from being abused as sex workers, legalize it the way they do in the state of Nevada. Having the government involved will go a long way to making sure women (and men) have more options to avoid becoming sex workers in the first place and if they choose to do so, they are in a much safer place.
Amanda shares with us her story of running into some wacky goth/emo kids at Wal-Mart doing a face painting gig and Jerry Lewis and his telethon last weekend.
Here’s my attempt to pay our audience a no-strings-attached compliment:
I think you, our listeners, are great people. I really enjoy reading your responses on the website and in the community. Whenever we meet, we always have a great time and you never disappoint me when I need your support. I want you guys to know how much joy it is to me to be able to speak to such a colorful and wonderful set of people on a daily basis. What are your hopes and dreams?
The podcast that truly loves you, and not in a creepy way- Feast of Fools.
