Fausto, Justin, Marc and Sal-E in downtown ChicagoSal-E and I, Fausto Fernós, head out the house to record tonight’s show. Something was in the air that made us just want to stroll outside.

We are soon joined by my beloved husband, Marc Felion. Marc shows us which corner to hang out and record a show and turn a few tricks, if the possibility arises. We end up on the steps of a neighborhood church, which is not the best place for midnight cowboys like us, but it sure was comfortable. Were we divinely inspired on the steps of the church? Yes, if this is your version of the Divine.

We talked about the obnoxious review on iTunes music store for the podcast. Usually we don’t pay much attention to the negative ones, but this one really got our goat. And bitch, I want my goat back, she has medical needs and only understands Spanish. Anyway, this racist reviewer writes that they like our show but don’t like that we speak, in their words, “the Wet language” and that the last time he checked, this is still the “US of A and not the US of M,” which I guess must mean the US of Mexico.

Marc was a little confused over this review because he wasn’t familiar with the terminology of “wet language” and nothing turned up in a Google search. Having lived in the border state of Texas, I had heard it before. I know everyone’s heard of wetbacks as a derogatory term for Mexicans, but now you know they have their own language- Wet. I guess its our language too at the Feast of Fools. I hope our show gets you soaking wet.

Is the word podcast on the way out? It seems many feel that that the word podcast isn’t the best word to describe what programs like the Gay Fun Show do. They feel that the word is too confusing for people because a lot of people still feel that they need to have an iPod to download and enjoy podcasts. Marc has some personal experience at the GLBT expo in March when he asked people if they listen to podcasts a very common response was “I don’t have one.”

It just goes to show you that people do equate they term podcast with iPods. Other words have been purposed like “netcast,” “microcast,” “portable media” and now some people are suggesting the general term of “downloadable media” to cover podcasts, ATOM, and RSS media enclosures. They have even formed an Association for Downloadable Media to in their words “provide leadership in and organization of advertising and audience measurement standards, research, education and advocacy to all those involved in portable media.” Work that hot new term.

Listen as we chat about Sal-E friendships with porn stars, his new hair style and about our trip California. Hope you can join us for one of the fabulous events listed below:

I love it when you speak Spanish - or with Spanish accents. This creates an air of sophistication, substance and international elegance. Only stupid people dislike diversity. But how on earth do you get a wet back by swimming through a river? Wouldn´t it rather be a wet belly then? I assume that “wet back” refers to the sweat stains on your back when doing the hard, low-paid work or outdoor labour most white US of A persons do not want to do.

Is a wet belly a “Welly”?

I finally got Friday off, /cheer.

Thank you for helping to bring high culture to Ontario.

Sal-E, I can not wait to see a photo of what you look like now. Sounds intriguing. Hair looks like down? Wow!
Three Cheers for Barbara and everyone else who helped get the FOF out to California to meet the fans!

Got to agree with michael above about the term wetback. Fausto-swimming across the river? I was like, “Don’t tase me ‘bro.”

Down in Texas where I am from calling someone of Hispanic background a “wetback” or in spanish a “mojado” is SUCH an insult! So I guess that idiot writting the iTunes review is a prejudice PRICK! …alright i needed to get that out of my system!

Great Show you guys i almost felt like i was outside hanging out in the streets of Chicago with you! =)

See You Friday!

Am I going to have to have dueling stun-guns with Sal-E?! …

Only a week away boys! See you at Akbar and Disneyland! We need to do dinner!

Buzz

I hate stupid pricks who are so close minded and racist against people who are different from them. Fausto ustedes sigan con el espanol en el programa, segurito a la gente les encanta.

Guys, the reviewer in question (he goes by Mummer on iTunes) has gone around giving several GLBT podcasts (including mine) bad reviews. Don’t give him the satisfaction of any more of your time and attention.

What was that Beatles movie again? I want to see it!

I haven’t commented in a long time! So sorry!

Pedro is my god, let the cake be with you!

yeah for walking the streets of Andersnatch, did I spell that right Marc?

I almost went to see Across the Universy too, but we decided it was abad idea so yeah.

So you guys are going to take a week to go out to california? are you driving really? I dont believe you.

woo hoo
I have studies to attend to

We are driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco with Sal-E, Steven P, and Miss Ronnie! ULP

Safe Travels.. have fun! I enjoyed the show today. Never been to chicago but i really enjoyed todays tour! That reminds me, i am going to check on that movie and it’s show times…

Rub on, rub on Sal E!!!!!!! I’m also ready for a great film of young, viril navy guys with some fraternity brothers. mmmmm! I wish I could be in the car with the group for the LA to SF drive—boy, I’ll bet there will be all kinds of stories. (Maybe even a KIR vid or two). You all rock!!!! Be careful and have a blast!

The drive up to SF is nice! Just remember to take nose plugs when you reach the area where there are cows for miles! P.U.!!!

Does Fausto have a secret man-crush on Leo Laporte?

good show it was nice having Sal-E there again however it coulda been a little longer :) keep up the good work guys
