Nothing tastes better than sweet sweet victory! Last Friday we hanged with the fans and our podcasting peers as we celebrated and accepted our award for “Best GLBT Podcast 2007″ from the People’s Choice Podcast Awards.

Although we were nominated also for “Podcast of the Year” we didn’t win the top prize. According to the award’s producer Todd Cochrane, we all lost by 100 votes. So in many ways I felt like we all were in good company and it truly was an honor to have been nominated. This was the first time ever any GLBT oriented program was nominated for the top award.

One wonderful prize we won that was getting to know better our fellow nominees and podcast award winners, Mignon Fogarty from the Grammar Girl Podcast and Scott Sherman from the The Digital Photography Show. They were both delightful people are just as sweet as could be in person.

Right now we’re on a very limited internet connection and will be posting more photos and footage from our travels as soon as we get to San Francsico! See you soon.

How ’bout sploshing some mashed potatoes or candied yams!

Mashed potatoes with gravy. It is so nice to here you guys having fun. Makes my day.

Hmm…iTunes is not picking up the show. :(

It was so nice seeing you guys this weekend. The meet and greet was awesome, looking forward to hearing that podcast!!! Have a great time in SF!!!

I’m so glad I was here to witness the beginnings of Pedro’s career as a sploshing superstar.

Pedro — When you’re sploshing Brangelina’s wedding cake, don’t forget the little people who knew you way back when!

is this show avalible for download from iTunes? I cannot get it to work
oh well

So everyone wants to see me sit on a pumpkin pie or jack o’ lantern for halloween? Hahaha…I don’t think I am mean enough to jack some kids for their halloween candy and sit on it.

Pumpkin pie wouldnt be as painful. But if i go to las vegas to see my sister while doing the podcast expo, I will sit on many pies. maybe we could do a group pie sitting. ALL RIGHT! Maybe that could be part of the feast of fools calendar.

Pedro-I just read that the late pumpkin crop is terrible. The US is importing pumpkins this year ! Wholesale prices have risen from 29 cents to 39 cents a pound. Buy a frozen pumpkin pie early on sale or buy your jack o’ lantern while they have a good supply. It was nice hearing your voice on the podcast. You will always be the first FOF cake sitter.

Oh my God! I was so afraid that Pedro would splosh this beautiful award you won - I would love to see him on a regular basis as a segment of the show - but Miss Ronnie is totally right, don´t make it only Thanksgiving and Xmas. What about Rosh HaShana and Chanukka? He could sit into a bowl of honey and apples. That would be sweet :) (but do not try a chanukkia for heaven’s sake :)

can’t seem to download the show from itunes… hmm… help..? ;-P

It was awesome meeting Marc, Fausto, Miss Ronie, and Sal-E in Ontario. I wish I would have known they where gonna be recording this brief show in their room I so would have been there! We where actually downtstairs at the bar and the party by the pool, where we also had a good time when we all caught up with each other!

Jonathan, Pedro and Cynthia, it was refreshing to meet other listeners, since back home I only know of ONE other person who listens to the show. Alrighty well I hope next year I get to party with the cast in sin city Las Vegas! Awesome show!

p.s. I posted some pictures on the forum for all to see.

I agree with Steven, get some drag queens to co-ordinate the Podcast Awards. I was expecting exactly what Ronnie described. There are so many podcasters who put their hearts and souls into what they do. That said, giving a sample of all of their hard work at the only awards ceremony that honours them would’ve been nice!

Next time I fly I’m going to remember to ask for an F-seat!

This was a really fun show (despite it not being available on iTunes)
