Roxie and MarcWe had a great time hanging out with our friends and fans at Gay Days at Disneyland in California. It’s incredible that the time has passed so quickly in our two week California tour.

Where did the time go?

Gay Days is a celebration and get together of queer folks who decide unofficially to attend Disneyland wearing red t-shirts. Sound familiar?

I felt like we were surrounded by all our California listeners, as the average attendance for the event is equal to the number of people who listen to the show in a week– 40,000 or so.

Listen as Sal-E, Marc Felion and me your blue fairy Fausto Fernós chat on a park bench in Frontierland about the modernist design style of vintage rides such as “The Enchanted Tiki Bird Room”, “It’s a Small World After All”, and “Space Mountain.”

It’s really remarkable that a visionary like Walt Disney was able to infuse his inspired view of entertainment and theme parks that wasn’t just a shock ride but a place for people of all ages to connect through fantasy and art.

Almost 50 years later some of the rides at Disneyland remain untouched and true to their original vision. Sitting in the Tiki Bird Room is like taking a trip back in time to when America was fascinated with Polynesian culture and mechanical birds ruled the world.

A place where your hot fantasies come true- Feast of Fools.

Rosie looks good. Sounds like you guys had a terrific time out in California. I love the live recording from the Disneyland park. Wish I had been there with you guys and can’t wait to hear more from your trip.

Hey guys! Glad you finally got to see the fireworks show afterall (and Fantasmic)! I wish we could have stuck around to see it with you, but pup D and I HAD to be home. I was exhausted after two days of Disney and I’m ready to crash now at work! Hope you had a safe and uneventful trip back home.

Missing you already,
your zapster,
Buzz

OMG, I had the most fabulous time hanging out with you guys. And everyone that was in our group. Mario, Jonathan, Mike, the whole group. It was so much fun. Have a safe trip home, guys. :)

I love a show with a “ohshenaayyourbaby” in it

I love any show that begins in Spanish.
And any show that ends in a Fausto Fernós original ditty.

So I loved this show x2!

I challenge anyone to Disney Trivia!!!

Rosie’s character was called Terk.

In regards to the Disney Princesses; officially there 6 (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine) but both Mulan and Pocahontas have been added. Alice (from Alice in Wonderland) was also featured as a Princess of Heart in the Kingdom Hearts video games and has apparently been included in some of the promotional art. As far as the African princess … no, there hasn’t been one … yet. In 2009, Disney will be releasing The Princess and the Frog, which will star Princess Tiana (the first black princess).

All hail Princess Tiana!

I’ve elaborated on my statement … check it out http://www.feastoffools.net/community/topic.php?id=1216

Fausto, you sounded so much like Tigger it gave me a slight chill. Though you also sounded like one of the Banana Splits… pretty much the same voice… but that “Woo hoo hooo HOOO!!!!” laugh is ingrained in my mind as Banana Splits. :)

Glad you’re home!!! We’ve missed you!!

Ohhh! I miss disney so much! I wish I was there with you guys!

I really like Disney - but wasn’t the founder somewhat rightwing and Evil? Or do I have my facts wrong…

For a REALLY odd musical experience check out ‘Readymade Digs Disney’ (a Japanese group (?) I think. They made kind of trippy Dancy remixes of Disney classic songs. Half in Japanese and with highpitched voices… Listening to it is like dropping acid while being hit on the head repeatedly with a rainbow.

I love a lot of things Disney - but wasn’t the founder seriously politically incorrect?

If you like Disney tunes though, see if you can get your hands on ‘Readymade loves Disney’. It’s a Japanese ‘group’ that makes trippy, dancy remixes of Disney favorites. It’s half-Japanese, half-English and partly sung by children in highpitched voices. Listening to it is like taking acid while being hit on the head repeatedly with a rainbow. You haven’t lived until you hear a middle-aged Japanese women go ‘bibbedi-bobbedi-boo’ in baby-voice.
