Don't they look cute together?Pets love company, and our favorite pet, our People’s Choice Podcast Award for “Best GLBT” podcast now has a twin to play with. Don’t they just look so cute together?

We are delighted and honored to win for two years in a row the prestigious award for podcasting and for being nominated for “Podcast of the Year.” Thanks to everyone who voted!

We’re now back in Chicago working on putting together all the delicious footage from our travels and live shows taped in California, and boy are they a hoot! Our cameramen Steven Peterson (in Los Angeles) and Andy Daulton (in San Francisco) did a terrific job of framing the camera and keeping it focused on all the delicious action. We’ll be posting video clips of both shows in the coming month and in the following weeks our live versions of the shows.

It was great to meet everyone and I was deeply touched by stories of how the podcast itself was like a friend to many of you- we think the same way about you. We have some of the most attractive, intelligent and funny listeners out there. So much in fact, that we’re in the process of trying to hold a call in show soon to see how it works out. Cross your fingers!

Do you know who Mae West is? She’s a diva from the past you should know about, and her humor still carries to this day.

Known for her risque plays and witty comebacks, Mae West gained fame and notoriety in the turn of the century as an American vaudevillian performer, gay rights champion and star of stage and screen.

Think of her as the Shakespeare for drag queens. Many sayings we quip all the time like: “A hard man is good to find”,”Why don’t you come on up and see me sometime” and “Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere.” can all be attributed to her. The woman was decades ahead of her time.

Check out these fabulous YouTube movie clips about her: My Little Chickadee Sextette, and from the A&E Biography.

During our trip in California, Sal-E, Marc and I were playing “dueling divas” where we came up with snappy sexual “double entendres” for a profession. What are some of yours?

Join Marc Felion and me, Fausto Fernós as we talk about the health benefits of licorice, condoms being given out at Thai banks, new promising HIV treatments, and delicious donut bandits.

The podcast that wants you to come up and see it sometime, when it has nothing on but the Feast of Fools.

Dueling dicas is putting what you guys did lightly. We waited in line for almost an hour to get on the Indianna Jones ride. They whole time they had everyone dying of laugher with their Mae West imprersonations. I was losing my voice and trying to join in but saddy was unable to do anything but laugh. They kept trying to out do each other and they just got more and more funny.

It’s actually The Long Kiss Goodnight. Not Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. haha. Great movie though. One of my favorites.

Marc, Gena Davis was in The Long Kiss Goodnight, a hell of a kick ass movie!

Welcome home! You guys did an amazing job keeping up with the podcast while you were in California… it was seamless. Also, I think Chicago was jealous that you were gone, and did its best imitation of southern California weather. So thank you for that — although using the A/C in October is a little weird.

Congratulations on the People’s Choice GLBT award! I was disappointed when I heard FOF didn’t take the top honors, but it just adds more delicious suspense for next year. Winning the GLBT category two times out of two is already such a testament to how much love there is for FOF. Wouldn’t want to peak too early!

I haven’t even listened to today’s show yet, because I was enjoying Jonathan’s cake video… can’t wait for sploshing to take off as the next big YouTube phenomenon. (I want to see a big bodybuilder guy splosh a pink cupcake. Is that wrong?)

It may be wrong Maia but it feels so right. When can we see your cake sitting video in your librarian drag?

hmmm… maybe bread pudding, for me. I could write “FOF” in raisins on top. Let me get back to you on that. Gotta dig that cardigan out of the closet.

Love the show. It was great to learn about Mae West. The weather has been crazy with the air on in October Maia.. people dying at the marathon was wild hopefully someone learned a big lesson about providing water. I am ready for fall to really start now.. break out your bunny hugs

I love that Marc & Fausto now have one People’s Choice Podcast apiece. But I think Marc should get to hold the newer one every once in a awhile.
Maia, here in Georgia it is not unusual to wear shorts and run the A/C on Christmas Day.

patchouli — we got what we asked for today, didn’t we? Brrr! Someone turn the global warming back on, please! ;)

Cliff — Wearing shorts on Christmas!!! Why, that’s downright unnatural. Sounds like the devil’s work to me…

Isn’t one of Mae West’s most famous quotes “Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me”? I also like “Whenever I have to chose between two evils I pick the one I haven’t tried before” and my favorite is probably “When I’m good I’m good, but when I’m bad I’m the best”. Good show guys, and congratulations again.

Cleopatra 2525? Analysis of the sci-fi shows on TV? I feel like my podcast worlds are colliding. Are you guys listening to Slice of SciFi or Wingin’ It 3D from the Farpoint Media folks?

We love Cleopatra 2525. We can sing the whole theme song! I haven’t listened to those podcasts yet but I’ll give them a listen.
