IMG_9062.jpgTwo of Chicago’s most prolific costumed crusaders, Sal-E and JoJo join us to talk about drama in the clubs, becoming a drag queen and how to look fabulous for pennies a costume.

Hopefully everyone has had their first time they ever went into a club dressed up in a out of the ordinary costume, what was it like for JoJo and Sal-E?

Dressing up like these guys do isn’t always so easy. For one, not everyone likes freaks. So you get shunned and worse, a target. But on the other hand you get away with things you’d never get to do if you were just your everyday self.

It can be addictive to go up to the hottest guys in your bar and grab their attention when you’re wearing an outfit that looks like it came out of a dream sequence in a Tim Burton film.

We’re taking calls from you, our fabulous listeners like Florida, Jake, Manish, and Regina Upbright.

Transparent toasters, clowns scaring children and “natural” drag queen discrimination all come up on today’s show.

Freaky monsters, glamorous queens or fairy sprites, what kind of makeup do you like to wear? What are some good strategies to dress up and be a fabulous nightclub entertainer in your neck of the woods?

Click here for photos from Sal-E and JoJo’s art opening of the work of photographer Bernard Colbert.

Thanks for using the clown story I found! Loved it.

Always enjoy Sal-E.

Love the clown story. Thanks for thinking of us.

Really loving these call in shows guys, your commitment to innovation is what always keeps me coming back for more.

It was wonderful to finally hear Sal-E and JoJo’s voices again, I love those boys.

I can’t wait to see Sal-E and JoJo’s documentary.

Love you guys !

Sal-E and JoJo congratulations on the Clive Barker documentary. That is truly fantastic news. I have always had a crush on Clive since the early 90’s. When you see him again give him a big squeeze from me.

Thank you for the Clown news story Persikov! Keep in mind we’re still trying out the call in shows, you can join us every Sunday at 7pm central (visit the site for details.)

Love the art guys!

Bring in the Clowns!

Yeah, honestly, clowns are freaky as heck.

Also, its good to see some different drag than the typical pretty girl drag that we have in NC.

Disney is freaking awesome! Cruella is my bud, ha ha ha, got to love flirting with the straight girls!

I’m so bummed I missed the call in show. I was on a date, heh heh. Excellent show guys. Always a pleasure to hear JoJo and SAL-E, well, you are just always bootylicious.

I think the see through toaster is fun, as you all know how much I love toast, but if you really want to toast in style check out this toaster decked out in Swarovski crystals.

Sal-E is looking fierce in those photos! Love the hair girl, it’s so sexy!

Why do you let that Florida woman on, she’s NUTS!!!

I’m catching up on a long backlog of shows.

I just want to say, Jojo’s idea for putting the negative things people have called him on his body in a beautiful tattoo is a wonderful sentiment. I think that’s gorgeous, and I could imagine myself doing the same someday. :D Great shows everyone!
