A happy family: Fausto, Bubu and MarcTweet tweet indeed! If you think podcasts are the sole domain of the odd and unusual, you’re wrong.

A British radio station has become an unlikely hit by broadcasting nothing but a twenty minute loop of the ambient sound of a country garden with birds a-twittering in the background.

It’s lovely I tells ya, governor.

Half a million listeners who want to re-connect with nature have tuned in to the station. RSPB, the company producing the show is now getting around to upgrading the quality of the recording, hopefully supplementing it with sounds of chipmunks-a-squeaking and crows-a-cawing.

Charlon Heston was a gay icon

On a darker note, actor Charlton Heston, well known for starring in such sci-fi classics like Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green and in landmark biblical-inspired films like The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur, died at the age of 83.

In a 1997 speech he confused many by both praising and condemning the gays in Hollywood he worked with for most of his acting career:

“Many homosexuals are hugely talented artists and executives… also dear friends. I don’t despise their lifestyle, though I don’t share it. As long as gay and lesbian Americans are as productive, law-abiding and private as the rest of us, I think America owes them absolute tolerance. It’s the right thing to do. But on the other hand,” Heston continued, “I find my blood pressure rising when Clinton’s cultural shock troops participate in homosexual-rights fund-raisers but boycott gun-rights fund-raisers… and then claim it’s time to place homosexual men in tents with Boy Scouts, and suggest that sperm donor babies born into lesbian relationships are somehow better served and more loved.”

What-ever.

Nobody seems to remember that in his heeey-day, Charlton was seen as a gay icon for somehow making sure his shirt was off in every film. Later in life he became more conservative, uttering his famous like about gun-rights, they will take his gun away from his “cold dead hands.”

It's time to start planting pansiesIt’s time to start planing pansies. Spring is here and while the weather decides what it wants to be, now’s the time to start planing the gayest flower of them all, the purple pansy. Although I think the blue ones look nice too.

If you’re subscribed to the weekly Feast Blast, keep a look out for the “purple pansy” a delicious flowery cocktail recipe coming your way soon.

Listen as Marc Felion and me, Fausto Fernós talk about the fabulous trippy downtown sculpture Cloud Gate (better known as The Bean), Absolut’s Vodka ad that really offends nobody and the use of GLBT vs. LGBT which one do you prefer to use? I’m always saying “ladies first” so put the G in there.

My birthday is on Wednesday April 16th. Want to hang? Where should we go? I’m all ears.

Making your iPod fabulous- Feast of Fools.

I’m gonna try and post a video, hopefully it’ll work! But I love Davey and his dance blog, and here’s a picture of him in front of the bean, dancing.

well at least it linked…weird.

here it is

Davey Dance Blog -44- CHICAGO - OKgo “A Million Ways” from Pheasant Plucker on Vimeo.

you must have the magic touch

Good show and Welcome Home after your long adventure in to the depths of then Glam life in NYC!!! Firstly I find it hard to believe that you have no Idea who Natasha Bedingfield is? She is an Singer Songwriter who came out with the hot song These Words. and Currently her song Unwritten is used in Pantene Ads all over the world. I know that you have heard her music!! It would have been hard not too.

Secondly, you are so adorable when you miss-pronounce words. It always makes me giggle like a school girl:

Today the word was Alteration - Which Means 1. the act or process of altering; the state of being altered: Alteration will improve the dress. 2. a change; modification or adjustment: There has been an alteration in our plans.

The word should have been Altercation which means - a heated or angry dispute; noisy argument or controversy.

Police officers don’t get into many Alterations unless they are tailoring their uniforms.

Love you guys you rock!! You are the sunshine in my day!!

I think you should host a Jello Wrestling Match With Miss Sexton and Miss Upright for your birthday!! That would be a hoot!!!

Are there any sounds of animals actually having sex?!

Milwaukee Pride looks like fun! I wouldn’t mind taking the train up and spending the weekend there. And whatever you guys end up doing for Fau’s birthday, count me in!

Selena is awesome and it made me homesick of Texas when Fausto started singing. I need to make my yearly pilgrimage to the Selena boutique and life size memorial in Corpus. I even wear my Selena T-shirt out in Boystown.

The Chicago “Bean” is cool and all, but way overrated. I hate how it’s quickly becoming the symbol of the city, and people like Kanye West ain’t helping:

As far as Charlton Heston goes, the guys’ “What-ever” sums it up nicely.

Forget the birds, my favorite animal sound was Marc’s belch at 27:43. Long live the Feast of Flatulence!

A Jello wrestling match would be hilarious, but I’m afraid Mercedes would eat all the jello before the match would take place. I’m kidding of course, everybody knows Mercedes only eats diet pudding, not jello. Yes, I said it.

So about my b-day, where should we go Pete? I’m toying with someplace in A-Ville or Lakeview.

I think that was a cough. I have a cold!

Ah, sorry to hear it. I figured it was just a really clever shout out to the straight men.

P.S. Cold-eeze works wonders for me.

Wherever you go for your B-Day, I’ll be there! I love a Wednesday night outing!

The sounds at the beginning were so peaceful… I could listen to that while falling asleep.

Marc, I have a cold too– sniffles, coughing and overall feeling crummy. I think it’s just something in the air that will soon pass. At least I hope it is.

Good to have you back! We missed you :)

I like nicer dives like north end and big chicks (beer by the pitcher!), but i’m sure you’ll want to be someplace more glamorous for your birthday…i hear hydrate is fun during the week. they do lube wrestling so maybe they can sponsor the jello wrestling… I like atmosphere in a-ville, but not sure if its conducive to partying.

Chicago is such a sickly city. Seems like EVERYONE has been sick lately. Hope you guys feel better soon.

Thanks for the shout out guys! I had so much fun on Saturday. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it down to the Expo on Sunday, but I didn’t wake up until almost 3:30. A hard night of drinking really makes you sleepy for some reason…

Anyway, I wish I had made it, but am glad that I was able to make it down on Sat. Thanks for the shout out again!

Love always,
Milty

Ignore that queen who complained about the way you talk! If anyone else says the same thing just point to your TWO podcast of the year awards and say that the way you talk is adored by 10,000+ listeners. We love you ALL just the way you are!

Everybody here seems to be sick too, lots of people talking like Lee Marvin in Paint Your Wagon ;-)
All love

Yay for birthdays on April 16th! I’ll be turning 27, how about you?!?!?! ;-) I’ve tried to stick in a picture of my pansies, but we’ll see if it works! Down here in Texas pansy season is almost over!

well, I guess I can’t put in html code. Here is the picture:

I fixed it for u!

Thanks Marc! :-)
