Musician Ben Lerman on the Feast of Fools podcastBen is banging away on the ukulele on today’s show and I couldn’t be happier! Who doesn’t love the Hawaii’s contribution to the world of music when it’s accompanied by funny lyrics?

On today’s show we’re talking to Indiana born, New York City living comic-musician Ben Lerman.

Ben’s touring the country promoting his new CD “Ukelear Winter.” Although he says he not a bear, he has a big ole polar bear playing the ukulele on the cover of the album. Now Ben, you really have to be little older and have white hair to be a polar bear but you may just be young enough to be a cub. Ah labels, how can we laid without them? What do you think? Do you need a label to get laid?

Ben’s deliriously funny songs speak of magical lands where drag queens have super powers and anyone can possess a vagina that can hold candy and snacks like a pantry, if not Christmas trees covered in tinsel.

If you have a chance to see Ben’s live act when he comes to your neck of the woods, don’t miss it! We had a chance to see him live with Elvira Kurt, who we interviewed last May and it was a hoot. Now, you might not be able to ever see Ben live but at least on today’s music laced show you’ll get a nice taste of what Ben has to offer.

It looks like the Missing Flying Priest has now become the floating priest. Remember the guy that tried to raise money for a truck stop spiritual center? He is still missing. Father de Carli took to the air in a chair attached to a huge column of green, red, white and yellow balloons and is somewhere lost in the Atlantic. The Navy has called off their search.

Listen as we talk about unplugged sessions, why old Jewish people on NYC’s lower East Side are negative about everything and how they may be related to Amanda Steinstein.

Melts in your mouth and in your pants- Feast of Fools.

love that track ben sang…oxygen? too bad it isn’t available in his cd!

great show anyhow, ben is really entertaining!

Marc, this Xmas we’ll make it to the Eagle. I haven’t been there since the late 90’s when they used to have the “buffet”, where for $8 you could get four beers and all you can eat from the table of fried death. Oh, those were the days.

Ben, you have a new fan. You should track down The Hazzards (formerly known as The Ukes of Hazzard). They have a great song called Gay Boyfriend and I think you guys together would make a great show.

pupdon - i know the hazzards well. not only have i played shows with them as a solo act… one time i filled in for their bassist when he was away at clown college. i love those girls!

Ben has been my favorite guest on the show in a LLOONNGG time! He is SO funny. There were a couple quick little jokes that he said during the interview that were HILARIOUS that seemed to go unnoticed by Marc and Fausto.

Oxygen is a really catchy/funny song. I played it for a friend of mine and she literally pissedd on herself because she was laughing so hard (I think she related to the song a little too much).

I hope to hear Ben back on the show!

Right on, Ben. I should have known that the power of the Uke would have drawn you guys together. I love the Oxygen song too. I can’t wait to hear more of your stuff.

ben sounds like he would put on a great show. so witty and cute…i’m glad the guys admit how mean-spirited their twitters can be. i cry a little whenever i read them.

It’s called http://www.twitter.com/insults for a reason. I’m going to dedicate the next one to you Pete.

Awwwww, so cute! Great songs, hope to hear from Ben in the future!

thanks marc!

Funny songs! He sounds he would put on a good show.

He looks and sounds adorable. *crushing* Loved him and his music. Very witty and sassy. Hilarious music which everyone can relate to. Would love to see him perform. Hope he comes back soon! Great show ya’ll! Here’s to wishing you every cowboy in the tri-county area!

Ben is really engaging and funny. I really enjoyed this podcast. I hope you bring him back again.

Thanks Ben, Fausto, and Marc!

New great moment today with my Dad who’s visiting with us this week. Introduced him to FOF with this show while he was helping me in the kitchen fix dinner. I haven’t heard him laugh so much in such a short span of time. It was great!

Now I just have to help him understand what a podcast is. I’m sure he will be a listener.

Oh man I loved this show. Ben’s songs are hilarious - I really loved the one at the end, especially!

Hope he comes on again. I really enjoyed this one.

Hey you guys. I just wanted to say thanks for the shout out. My ipod recently got wet and died. i was listening online and i heard ukelele boy talking about native americans. I wasn’t offended . but i do have to say yes we had it rough and we don’t like to hear about it. my father was involved in passing the declaration for indiginous people in The United Nations . So i’d love to come to chicago and talk about this. Once again love you guys , still a loyal listener. loved the air in the balls song.

i lovee ben
his amazingly hillarious and totaly in love with the feast of fools

i adore him

totally have him on the show again

Hadn’t listened in a month or two, but I plugged into this show yesterday at work… almost created a scene by laughing so much. It was a joy, have him on again when we swings by Chicago!
