Jim Pickett will be at the Center on Halsted this Thursday April 17 for a live Feast of Fools podcastThe internet is changing us in significant new ways. This past year at IML, the International Mr. Leather Expo in Chicago, there was an air of openness and comfort that I have never seen before.

I guess after everyone saw the 2 Girls 1 Cup gross out video, nothing is too shocking or extreme anymore. Your freaky sex fetishes are just an everyday thing as long as it doesn’t involve two girls, one cup and what looks like chocolate mousse.

On today’s show Jim Picket talks about our up and coming Sex and the Superhighway Live Podcast Forum at the Center on Halsted, Thursday June 12 at 6 PM where we’ll be listening to your stories of hooking up online and how the internet is changing your life, for better or worse.

The Live Podcast features an interview and question and answer session with Stephan Adelson, the former G.M. of Manhunt, Beau Gratzer from Howard Brown Health Center and Brian Mustanski, from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Hilary and Obama don't rule out the possiblity of being on the same ticket.Well, the big news is that the Black Eyed Peas are going to be singing “Hey mama it’s going to be Obama!” as the dramatic and exciting Democratic Presidential Primaries came to a conclusion today as Obama got the number of delegates necessary to become the Democratic presidential .

Still, in a way we’re a little sad. Marc and I wanted to see them both enter the Democratic National Convention as if it were the Thunderdome with Tina Turner screaming “Two men enter, one man leaves!” in a knife fight to decide who would be the winner.

Alas, no such luck. And I just don’t see McCain putting up much of a fight as he’s been pussy-whipped by W these past eight years. McCain is just a sad-sack of political corruption and greed.

We love that Arianna Huffington is promoting ménage à trois on her blog. Ariana, the Zsa Zsa Gabor of political pundits, is asking journalists to get over their “old media” vs. “new media” comparison and says how the news is made and reported has changed.

From her blog: “The debate that has been dominating journalistic circles for the last few years has been print vs. online — but, in fact, that discussion is totally obsolete. It’s as musty as the old barroom argument about Ginger vs Mary Ann. It’s 2008, why not have a three-way?” Why not indeed?

And I’m feeling frisky so please join us this Saturday at Pridefest Milwaukee for the largest love-in of them all.

grasshopper.jpgIs that a bug in your salad? Go ahead and eat it as scientists are now urging you to add bugs to your diet as a nutritious and eco-friendly way of packing in the protein. Sounds yummy! I think they should market ground up grasshoppers as “Soylent Green” as a nutritional powder for athletes and bodybuilders.

Soylent green is grasshoppers!

Only 15 mins in but had to stop in real quick incase I forget. Great show guys! Loveing it so far. I love the internet! I used to be an under age cam model for a site back in the day. I made decent coin and never got caught. :) But with out the internet I would of never found my partner, Ulises. We actally met, get this, through the Feast of Fools! I know how awesome. But yeah with out the internet and the Feast of Fools I would of never met Ulises. We live so far apart now, b/c of his school so the internet really helps us right now until I can afford to make the move to California to live with him in our apartment. Well great show ya’ll!
Matty

Great story Matty!

Let’s hear more! Good, bad, ugly, delicious, delirious, demented internet hook ups for lust, love - whateva!

Great show, guys!

As for my Internet trevails, I’ve done it all - AOL, Gay.com, Manhunt, M4M4Sex, Men4Sex, and so on and so forth. I’ve had profiles on Yahoo and Chemistry. I’ve had some good luck but mostly I’ve found it’s just the same people over and over again. And if they aren’t interested in one place, they won’t be interested somewhere else!

So I’m trying to do some other things and get involved in some other ways so I can meet people. The Internet certainly does help to break down barriers when it comes to sex and hooking up, but if you’re looking for someone for the long term, I’ve found it is much too impersonal. There’s nothing better than actual conversation and getting to know someone.

As for bugs… ew. Nothing anyone says will ever get me to voluntarily crunch on a cricket or gnaw on a grub.

Ok, finished the show. :) And I was right it was grand. Well I used to be an expert at cyber sex. I could find a boy and get our business done and over with in 30 mins flat. But those are the good ole days, before I was legal and before I was outta the cloesnt. Oh the stories I could tell…. Well bugs are ok. My friend Soo from South Korea used to give me candies for no reason at all or even as gifts. They were made in Korea so I couldn’t make out exactly what they said. But one day I finally asked her cause they were so good and I wanted to look for them at the Asian market in St. Louis. Well, then I found out. :( The “Crunch” like candy bar was made with fire ants adn the “Baby Ruth” style candy was made with giant Butterflies. They had been gased, de-winged, dipped in batter, fried, rolled in nuts, then dipped in chocolate twice. When you ate them they had a lovely green center. They were delicious. I still get some every now and then. What can I say, candies candy. :)
Great show guys!
Matty

good luck this weekend in Milwaukee guys! i’m sure you’ll be the hit of the festival.

hey jim. i’ll be at the forum with a co-worker who has actually met with you to discuss some projects at our organization (ALCC). should be fun.

poked and prodded around the internet, but this year has definetely reawakened my love of bars. i’ve met such great, cute guys while out. i guess its the challenge of striking up conversations, the help of alcohol, and immediate sense of chemistry that make the experience more enjoyable than the internet.

matty, you didn’t solicit any advice but your openness about your personal life on the boards begs for it…thats great that you met somebody you care about on the internet and are planning to move, but i hope you are smart about it. i’ve heard so many bad stories about people with similar circumstances

Well I dont know what advice I would give. Ummmm… Use an fake name when your first starting out. Get a feel for everything. Then if you like the feel of the site you can get a new profile with all your real information. Um.. Never give out your real name if you dont feel comfortable. No one sould pressure you into telling something about yourself you dont want to share. Its you computer and your internets. So remember your in control. And above all play safe. Always meet up in a public place and play it safe from there.

Pete, I am so glad you are planning to attend the forum! I love the AIDS Legal Council of Chicago - they do such amazing work. I used to be on their board until I took my current position at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and had to resign due to conflicts of interest (AFC is a funder of ALCC.) Anywho, looking forward to seeing you there….

I am fortunate enough to have made it through life without seeing the 2Girls1Cup video. There are somethings I don’t need to see.

I love when Jim is on the show — he’s so smart! and when he talks he does it in a way that you don’t feel stupid against his smartness :-D

SMOOCH Jim!!!!

MWAh right back atcha TT! That is such a nice thing to say…. Thank you. And you go knock em dead in Milwaukee sister girl - the hometown I was run out of on a Greyhound some odd 20 years ago!

Another super show guys! Jim, as always, is an excelent source of information for such important issues. Not to say that Jim is cute and yummy as a hot blueberry muffin…. :-)
Its nice to know that we have intelligent and commited people focused in developing new and better solutions to improve our lives. You go Jim & Co!

Kisses!
