Kennidi Monroe is pissed off backstage at Pridefeast Milwaukee, but relieved to be out of costumeDiva! Diva! Diva! Kennidi Monroe just put out her very first single and it has a catchy riff. What is it? Voluptuous Diva. It’s the word “diva” over and over and over again.

The song seems like a Saturday Night Live sketch in extremis, and we love it. The campy awkwardness is disarming and it’s fun to sing along to. I can totally see drag queens working the runways all across the country screaming “DIVA!”

Sadly, tonight is the last night for the Paper Dolls show at Mary’s Attic in Andersonville. The club is going in another direction and trying out a new theme, sans-drag queens on Thursday nights.

Mary’s Attic is where all the great behind the scenes videos Kennidi recorded with us for her funky “Trannytalk 101″ YouTube video series took place. We got into trouble when we tried on pageant winner Mercedes’ crown when she wasn’t looking.

I don’t see what the big fuss was about, after all, the video gave her a ton of free publicity and it was meant in good fun. Okay, maybe we were just a little bit jealous and I did look good in it.

Kennidi is relieved that she’s finally able to soak in the sun and fun in Chicago. She had a rough month. First, she went to Texas and got sunburned. Then she struggled in the recording studio and discovered that she couldn’t sing or even keep a beat. Maybe it was the newness of the experience or her nervousness but her poor frustrated music producer told her to come back the next day only if she was fortified by a fifth of rum. She downed the rum and cranked out six songs in four hours. That’s our girl!

Kennidi then traveled up to Milwaukee with Sal-e, Teri Yaki, Tina Torch and Regina Upbright to re-create a Spice Girls number between tornadoes and unforgiving rain. But the girls all pulled it off despite the weather. All the kids in the crowd were delighted to see the wacky over the top Chicago version of the Popular British Girl Power group.

Chinese people are so hot for the Olympics that they are naming their kids “Olympic Games.” Can they do that? It seems the IOC would put a stop to that. After all, the reason the Gay Games is called that is because they won’t allow them to use the term “Olympic” even though the Special Olympics and even the “Pet Olympics” can use the term.

No long have to wish- a real live unicorn, or uni-deer was born in ItalyGay boys no longer have to wish for Unicorns. A real life unicorn, okay, uni-deer was found in Italy. The single horned deer, a random anomaly was born in captivity in the Center of Natural Sciences in Prato, Italy. He’s believed to have a genetic flaw; his twin has two horns.

Scientists are speculating that such anomalies might have inspired the myth of the unicorn.

Look out for us at Midsommarfest this weekend. I love this street fair because it’s our delightful neighborhood cranked up a few notches on the hotness scale. Our friends at Big Jones located right in the heart of it all are mixing up some delicious cocktails to keep you cool. I’m looking forward to trying out a Hibiscus Margarita in air conditioned comfort.

Always sharing it’s chicken wings with you- Feast of Fools.

DIVA! DIVA! DIVA! ..love love love your song, Kennidi. It’s amazing!!!! It’s my new favourite song! Good work!

Aww Calvin thank you! It was tons of fun doing the show! The boys are so lovely for having me on the show and helping me promote my album!!!

Thanks to the boys and the fans of feast of fools for all their support!!!

Much Love,
Kennidi

that’s a hot pic of you, kennidi, at pridefest. you’re looking very Nomi Malone….you’re such a quadruple threat; singer, dancer, actress, AND stylist.

i’ll look for you guys at the midsommarfest!. i’ll just look for the line of guys waiting to get blown inside the porta-potties.

Great show again, can’t wait for Kennidi’s Album to drop. As well thanks for mentioning your time in Milwaukee, as well me personally again in todays show.

Love the song and yeah I love chicken wings too. I also love Kennidi. I was wondering why she even recorded an album if she doesn’t really sing. I know that has never stopped anyone else from making an album. Just curious.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the song! Great job Kennidi. Can’t wait to hear the next track.

We just got back from Kennidi’s debut at the end of Mary’s Attic Drag Show, and it was fierce. Everyone was dancing to: DIVA! DIVA! DIVA! DIVA….

Thanks to everyone in their support! I cant wait till the rest of the album is done and everyone can hear it! As for the comment…about if I cant sing why make an album. Well, Rex Harrison from My Fair Lady and other stuff couldn’t sing, it was a form of singing he did that was like talking with more elaboration. Thats what my album is, its like Rupaul, Jeffree Star, and many others who have successes with music of this nature. Its about being an entertainer and performer!!!

Last night was amazing dropping my single…at first people were like what? Then they heard the lyrics and loved it! It was so nice to see and do…Im just happy to be starting this journey into something so new to me that I know will end up with success! Thank you all for the love and support! And Marc and Fausto are two amazing people who keep letting people like me shine on a great program like FOF!!!

Much Love,
Kennidi

Well done Kennidi!!! I just can’t get your song out of my head.. Diva..LOL
