icon-LadyMissKierI love having celebrities in my hotel room. On today’s show we’ve got three delicious stars in our penthouse suite at the Hotel Mark Twain in San Francisco- Peaches Christ, Heklina, and Lady Miss Kier!

The three of them, along with a multitude other fabulous performers will be working the stage on Saturday night at the Trannyshack Final Kiss-OFF Party, a big adieu to the weekly club show that has influenced drag queens for over 12 years.

But as they say in show business, nothing ever really dies. Will “Lash Out” be the next project in the works or will Trannyshack continue in a different form?

Lady Miss Kier and Fausto Fernos What a cute family! Heklina, Marc and Peaches hanging out at the Hotel Mark Twain in San Francisco

Lady Miss Kier is best known as the lead singer and co-producer for the mega-hit band DEEE-LITE, who’s songs “Groove is in the Heart” and “What is Love” defined the sound for a whole generation. Today their music still gets an enthusiastic response from people everywhere.

As a art director and fashion designer her influence was felt throughout the 90s in club kid fashion, video and in graphic design.

Join us for an intoxicating fun show as we dish it up with Heklina and Peaches Christ about the final night of Trannyshack in San Francisco, the impact of Dee-Lite’s music, and living in the 1990’s

Drunk as a skunk!

DEEEfinitely… entertaining.

Groooove is in my heart!! What a treat. I love Lady Miss Kier. Thanks for a great show. And I agree with the guys Deee-Lite was my first inkling of a gay subculture. Something that is so easily accessed for today’s youth via the internet and shows like the Feast of Fools. Thank God group’s like Deee-Lite paved the way.

It was far out having Lady Miss Kier, Heklina and Peaches all in the same hotel room with Marc and me. Yeow!

I’ve searched online in the past to try and find out what Lady Miss Kier has been up to because I’ve missed her presence so much. Therefore, I was thrilled to discover her in the house (hey!) today!! I have always thought that she has been so unjustly ignored and under-rated as a talent by the mainstream. One hit wonder my fuckin’ ass! Listen to ~all~ the Deee-Lite albums, bitches. (I know. I’m preachin’ to the choir, right?) On today’s show they didn’t even touch on the third and final Deee-Lite studio album Dewdrops In The Garden but that is one of my very favorites ever. Definitely on my list of if-I-was-stranded-on-a-deserted-island. And Lady Miss Kier is such a fierce fighter for our community. Props to you, sista.

“I believe in the power of love”…. The Dee-Lite Theme from World Clique is my Mecca music when going through the Holland Tunnel to NYC. “Picnic in the Summertime” - best song evah!

To Lady Miss Kier: Got coins, ready to party, where are you!

I love Lady Kier!

Okay, Fausto, you were right when you told me at the Pilsner Inn to listen to this podcast. It was not only hilarious but I learned a lot of things. By the way, what were you gurls drinking? It sounded like one big party with Lady Kier leading the way. I did not get to say hello to Peaches at the Pilsner so I loved listening to her/his comments on the show. I also enjoyed the fabulous Heklina. It is so good to have you and Marc in town!

Lady Kier, you are ferociousness personified!

Lady Miss Kier needs to come to Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. There will be plenty of freaks and geeks on parade (I’ll be one of the more subdued participants) at Dragon*Con.

So I just had an idea for a future episode:
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them or not, but they are a ballet company in which men dress in drag and go en pointe in hilarious parodies of famous ballets (not to say they aren’t skilled though–they’re better than some female dancers I know!)
It would be really interesting to find out how the dancers got into this kind of work and what kind of challenges they faced since pointe is usually for women. I’m sure they have some great stories of life on tour too.

Here’s their site: http://www.trockadero.org/
And here’s them dancing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRp5nE0Hlsc&feature=related

Best of luck!!! It would be awesome to hear someone from Trockadero on the show.
I’ve been a listener since about episode 100, so thanks for all those hours listening to you with sexy results!
Much love to Marc, Fausto, Sal-E, Amanda, and everyone else on the show,

Carla <3

Wow… that was one tranny mess of a show. I guess I’m in the minority here, and while I love what Miss Lady Kier does and has done in the past, am I the only one who thought she sounded an awful lot like Judy Garland in a really bad drug haze? It made for some uncomfortable listening throughout a lot of the show. I’m sure it was a lot of fun for you guys, but it was unsettling for me.

Always good to have Peaches and Hekklina back again, of course! And good luck with the rest of your trip, guys!

This show was such a coup! Sister Kier speaks truth to power. All these years I had no idea how turned on her mind was/is. Thank you for making an icon so accesible. Wonderful show!

Powah of LUVVVVV- let them call me naive, but I still believe.

woa! this girl is fabulous! If anyone call her a one-hit-wonder they will get hit! love you miss KK

DEE-runk!

What a mess. (sorry to have to say…)
