Dan Renzi on the Feast of FoolsWriter, model, reality TV star and editor, Dan Renzi joins us for today’s show.

In the mid 90s, Dan was plucked from forty thousand hopefuls and cast in the fifth season of MTV’s Real World: Miami.

Dan was one of the first openly gay people to be featured in a reality show. After a career in modeling and hosting MTVs “Challenges” he became a certified HIV counselor and speaks at colleges about sex and communication.

Today he also works as the editor of the South Florida Blade and blogs at How Was Your Day, Dan?

Join us as we chat with Dan about what it’s like to be on a reality TV show, RuPaul and the challenges facing young people.

George Takei challenges William Shatner to join him in the fight against Prop 8 in California. Shatner and Takei are publicly feuding and it’s become a tabloid like “he said, he said” video war.

Our deepest sympathy to Chicago’s Jennifer Hudson for the tragic loss in her family. The family is offering an award for information leading to the return of seven year old Jordan King.

    Great show guys, it was good to “catch up” with Dan. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him around and it’s good to know all the great stuff that he is up to. The show went really well and there seemed to be good dialogue back and forth…hope to hear him on again!

    Great Show!! It is great to hear from Dan again. For the “Scissor Sister” position - I would recommend a double jelly dong. It would be flexible enough to accommodate the funky position… too bad my husband is only a top… would be fun to try….

    I like gay celebs who have their roots in the Midwest - seems like they are more grounded and handle middle age better then those on the coasts.. just my simple observation. Josh Kilmer Purcell, Josh Hartnett are others that come to mind…. and of course Marc and Fausto….

    Thanks Dan for being on the show and Thanks Marc and Fausto for having Dan on the show.

    I always sort of looked at Dan admiringly as a young tween… but I could never shake the image of him going “I have… a major bone… to pick… with you”. He done took off the ear-rings at that point.

    Nice to find out my suspicions of him being a real sweetie put in a trying situation are correct.

    I imagine Dan gets sick of hearing “real world” puns. When I was in college I worked at a movie theater and he purchased some concessions from me and he made a comment about the price. Naturally, I wanted to say, “Well, Dan, it is the real world,” but I decided not to. Really interesting story, huh? :P
