Are They For Real?

Remember Friday’s show with the cute cheerleaders from the Chicago Spirit Brigade?

Well we ran into Mary La Pierre hanging out on Clark Street in our neighborhood, Andersonville the very next day. She was holding onto a t-shirt we gave her as a present, where we caught her red handed regifting the t-shirt for her hunky friend Carmello.

Have you ever been caught re-gifting a present?

You see if she was a gay man that shirt would of been in a box or a bag with colored tissue paper, and the shirt would of been folded so that you could read it without having to unfold the whole thing……there would also be a card attached. Cute shirt. This was too cute! Oh my gosh, you should take your camera out more often and maybe do some more cute video blogs like this. You better bring it for that pride fest we are all going to. I am sure we can find something to shoot out there. I will be like documenting our little field trip.

Yet another cute video you guys. I have been caught by my mother regifting a gift. She caught me just this past week regifting something my grandmother had given me. It’s a zodiac book; I have read it so I was going to give it to my friend for his birthday. When my mother caught me, so I explained it to her and them she was cool with it. I thought my mom was going to crucify me over it though.

One day i got this REALLY ugly bread-warmer/breadbasket for Chirstmas from my brother, and heavens knows us gays do not need any more excuses for eating carbs. So I gave the present to my mom, and she gave it to a present back to my brother for his birthday. The weirdest thing is nobody noticed the same gift had gone around in full circle. (Christmas, Mother’s Day, Brothers Birthday)

What did my brother do with his bread basket? He used it. He’s HUGE.

I cannot believe you guys busted me and then posted it. I love you. Thanks again for having me on your show twice now.

kisses, Mary LaPierre aka Mary La

Great to see you relaunched the video podcast !

I re gifted already several times but never actually got caught.
It is usually considered as somehow unfriendly but if you get some stuff you will never use why not re-gifted ? By re-gifting you practically recycle it. And if you don’t know anybody to whom you can give your unwanted present you can precycle it. E.g. a t-shirt you could use to clean your place for some time until you find someone to re-gift it.

These videos are not yet subscribable through itunes, but they soon will be! Once I get all the kinks worked out.

I can’t remember ever regifting anything because I so rarely get rid of anything. I did have my sister give me the unread copy of “Holidays on Ice” that I gave her for Christmas. The next year she called me to tell me about the funniest story about an elf at Macy’s that she heard on NPR.

I’ve never regifted anything as of yet. Anything I didn’t like, I usually made my family take it back. So if anyone did the regifting, it was the family member that I made take back my gift.
My Aunt Nancy tried to get me to take a shirt back that she tried to give me one Christmas, and refused it on the spot twice. I’m terrible, but I let family know what I like and don’t like, and if they get something I don’t like and they knew it, then I let them know, and refuse it. I let it be their problem.

Regifting is eco-friendly.

Regifting is eco-friendly only if it’s a gift the person likes and doesn’t always know it’s regifted. In my case, my family better make sure they get what I like so they don’t have to regift it. I don’t like complete surprises.
