Amanda Lear, Follow Me

By John Q. Sanchez on April 24, 2007 | Share & Save | Link | Print |

In this sin-sational song, from the concept album “Sweet Revenge,” the gorgeous, fascinating, and slightly ridiculous Amanda Lear wants to entice you into a life of soulless glamour. “Follow Me” is just the beginning of “Sweet Revenge,” which tells the story of a woman who sold her soul—to Satan!—for fame and fortune. Autobiographical? Maybe! Or is her story perhaps more along the lines of her novel, “The Immortal,” which she wrote in the hospital while recovering from from a car wreck which nearly killed her? It tells the story of a beautiful, ageless creature who will never die. Sadly, youtube currently has no clips of her 2001 remake of the theme from “The Love Boat.” But at least there’s “The Queen of Chinatown”! —John Q. Sanchez

I”m totally in love with her now. I’ve searched out her music and it really marks that era so well.
It reminds me so much of Blondie or Grace Jiones,.
