Raquel Welch in Mexico

By John Q. Sanchez on May 4, 2007 | Share & Save | Link | Print |

Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow—celebrate it today with this pagan production number, shot in Mexico, starring latin bombshell Raquel Welch (nee Jo Raquel Tejada). Razzle-dazzlers like this don’t often happen in the daylight—or even in the daytime—and this clip has a great, unusual blend of down-in-the-dirt reality and showbiz fakery. Kind of like Raquel herself! —JQS

Bonus beats: Raquel’s minimal sci-fi dance, from the same TV special as “Aquarius.”

The tempo change is so whack!

Love the videos. I’ve never seen Raquel in Myra Breckinridge where she plays a tranny.

They say Raquel had her bottom ribs removed to make her waist smaller, but I don’t know if this is an urban legend or not.
I know it gets done, but whether she did it or not I don’t know for sure.

Nobody has ever gotten their ribs removed to make their waists smaller.

Check out the complete article on Snopes!

My lover was MEXICAN and she was HOT !!!

I heard Selena had her’s removed too. I’m sure some people do it no matter what snopes says.
Snopes is not always right. I’d like to hear it from a doctor.

And let’s not forget the FOF connection between posts here, as Raquel took over ‘Woman of the Year’ from…yeah, Lauren Bacall.

Re ribs - I’m with Fausto. I’m no doc but I have a serious hunch that removing ribs is very likely fatal. Let’s keep it to yanking wisdom teeth, in the tradition of Dietrich and Crawford. You get sensational cheekbones AND your lungs don’t collapse.

Fabulous!

but…
What’s with the twinkie twins (gemini)!!!

CRAP! The video has been taken down! :( :(

Curse you, YouTube!!!!!!
