WOW I haven’t seen the Evita commercial in ages, but boy do I remember it well. They used to play it here when Evita was on tour in Chicago.

OH MY GOWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!— I’ve NEVER seen that and I was in the show 3 times (Toledo, Cincinnati, and Chicago) LOL LOL — wow Patty looks so much like the real Eva in the balcony scene LOL — I”ve seen pictures but it’s a treat to see her really sing it in costume.

Now I heard that it was actually a horribly staged show by today’s standards. Did anyone see the original and think the same???

What’s new men at Steamworks? I’m back, I wanna say I’m just a little stuck on you, you’ll be on me too…

Bonus joke in there…the Pittsburgh tour date says “featuring Don Brockett”…he was the absolute center of musical theater and variety in Pittsburgh around then. Better known as “Chef Brockett” from Mr. Rogers. He always whispered as the Chef because his speaking voice was like 30-grit sandpaper doused in cigar smoke.

i also like the glenn ellyn tour date on the SCTV parody. my friend grew up there and says don & angie’s really existed but served rather mediocre pizza.

Andrea Martin is just hilarious. Shes like in all my favorite movies (hedwig, my big fat greek wedding…)

What a blast from the past! I really loved Second City TV and I remember seeing that Evita commercial over and over again, but I never made it to the broadway show.
