Have a Happy Macarena Christmas

By Fausto Fernós on December 2, 2008 | | Link | Print |

Remember Spanish Duo Los Del Rio’s insane one hit wonder “Macarena?” In case you forgot it, here’s their attempt to cash in the popularity of their song by releasing a Christmas version complete with a Spice Girls knock-off. ¡Ay Macarena!

Not sure why the song ends with a baby giggle.

  • Oh I LOVE the Macarena, it’s the reason I don’t dance!

  • I am sure the baby laugh has to do with ringing in the new year. Often the image of a baby in diapers with a happy new year hat is used in celebrating the coming of a new year . You know birth and rebirth.

  • According to my Wicca friends the baby symbolizes the birth of the sun as days grow longer.

  • Come on! That’s the Baby J! Got to keep the true meaning of Christmas in the message! Although I know some who would like to think a gaggle of Victoria Secret models is the true meaning of Christmas. Santa Baby won’t you bring me some….

Okay, I’m full of it. But it is beginning to feel like the models are becoming the new meaning to the holidays, what with A&F, VS, and all, no?

  • Well that was interesting…. So do they sing anything else? I don’t really remember even hearing any other songs by them lol
And their hand motions look a little sad…

  • LOL, that sounds like a good reason for the baby mark, did anyone notice the kitty meow’s near the beginning though. I wonder what that represents. LOL
