Forbes Magazine Internet Celebrities
By Marc Felion on April 24, 2007
Well, we didn’t make the list of the Internet’s Top 25 Celebrities, but you new that already didn’t you? That awful bore New Zealand-born actress Jessica Rose who portrayed Bree, a 16-year-old home-schooled American teenager who videoblogged under the name Lonelygirl15 took the number onespot.
I only heard about her videos after they were exposed as a scam so maybe I came a little late to the party, but when I got there I was bored and wondered who watched this crap? If it weren’t for the extensive media coverage of this story about being “exposed” as a scam nobody would care about it at all. Read more…
Amanda Lear, Follow Me

In this sin-sational song, from the concept album “Sweet Revenge,” the gorgeous, fascinating, and slightly ridiculous Amanda Lear wants to entice you into a life of soulless glamour. “Follow Me” is just the beginning of “Sweet Revenge,” which tells the story of a woman who sold her soul—to Satan!—for fame and fortune. Autobiographical? Maybe! Or […]

Remember Sparty, who lip-synched the house down with his full-bore non-drag performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going”? He’s back with a new video featuring the same song, a new look, masterful use of canned applause, and even a guest appearance from Brandy (that girl from “Moesha”). —John Q. Sanchez

This beautifully colored drink is delicious to sip on. The Dragon Fruit or Pitahaya replaces the cranberry juice in this alternative to the traditional Cosmopolitan. With its fuchsia-pink skin and scales, this pitaya fruit is in fact a cactus fruit and is unlike any other fruit in appearance.
It’s sort of the drag queen of […]

Here’s the official trailer to the upcoming movie of the musical of the John Waters movie “Hairspray.” This new movie really has the look of the old one—the costumes, sets, and hair are all right out of the 1987 version of 1963. The play re-interpreted the original movie’s mix of wild styles and drab settings […]

Who could ask for more? A: You, after you saw Debbie Harry on the Muppet Show. So here it is! Liza gamely jumps into the role of Lola, the ill-starred love-struck showstopper at the Copacabana, when they used to have a show. Why did we ever trade variety shows for reality shows? A 60s exploitation-film idea of gay life. It’s no victory for accurate or unstereotypical filmmaking, and the homophobic talk from the blond who’s just pretending to be gay isn’t very nice, and you kind of worry for the drag queen leaving with him. But these costumes and the ambient grooviness are enough even to chase […]
